Shallow Depth of Field

Many professional photographers use a Shallow Depth of Field (DoF) to get a subject to stand out in photograph and clean up the background from distracting content. They do this by using a wider aperture and longer focal range. The closer you get to your subject, the less DoF you get. I love using a 70-200 f/2.8 for this reason. See below for examples of my work using either a wider aperture and/or a longer lens.
