Hey, if we can't have sports might as well exploit the creatures in the yard, right? It's really good practice framing, focusing, and catching the moment when you are up so close. Becomes a whole body experience while getting the shot. I find I do a lot of deep breathing, not just so i can steady myself, but I find it helps in relaxing my mind to see what is happening in this smaller world. Again, all of these were taken with a Nikon D500, handheld, in ambient light, with an extension tube and my amazing 50mm f/1.4G lens. I tried to get more in flight today than I did yesterday while trying to be mindful of the backgrounds.
