Below single images (non-stacked) from Comet NEOWISE as seen from Baldwin Rd near Highway 33 in Ojai, CA on July 18, 2020. The first night I tried I didn't know anything about star trailing or much more than just setting the camera to a long exposure on a tripod. A little research and I began to understand the relationship between exposure time, focal length, and the speed of the stars in the field of view as the Earth rotates. This basically meant I sped up my shutter speed to around 1.6 seconds (depending on the focal length) from the 30 seconds I was setting the camera to the night before. The results were a stark contrast.
