As of today I have shot with a Nikon 200-500 f/5.6 twice. Once last March at the Santa Ana Horse track attached to the incredible D5 and the other day at the beach attached to my fabulous D500. I have to say this lens, for a less expensive super zoom, is one of the best lenses I have ever shot with. The focus is fast, the color renders beautifully, and the sharpness, well tack like quality for lack of better terms. I can't wait to get it out there to shoot other sports and wildlife in the coming days. The below few images of random birds on the beach were taken while I was practicing with my autofocus on surfers. This lens is one great example of reasons why Nikon will always be my main choice of photography equipment.
