One of my favorite backlit frames I captured with my Nikon D500 + 200-500mm f/5.6 lens (1/8000s, f/7.1 ISO 400) from the other day at the Ventura Point near the fairgrounds in Ventura, CA. I decided to process this in Adobe Camera RAW using the "Auto" function with a slight fine tune, I exported it as a jpeg in full size. The second is with Nikon's free NX Studio software with minimal adjustment to the original RAW file straight out of camera and then exported as a jpeg in full size. For this particular image I am really leaning toward the NX Studio version but I do like how CR did open up some shadows a bit, which I could have done in NX but decided to leave closer to what the camera captured.
